Bright Pink Rose Flower

This is an interesting piece. The fact that only the petals of the flower are shown in the image places an interesting contrast in my mind; the multiple overlapping layers of petals contain in-and-of themselves a sense of symmetry and order, yet in this picture they also look swirled and random, a very interesting outcome.

You have captured the texture of the rose beautifully; its looks like something tiny is wrapped in layers of or nestled in a bed of delicate silk.

I am also curious about the color. I've never seen a rose in quite this hue before. Was the image altered at all? If not, what type of rose is this. When viewing this image right alongside your other shot of the yellow rose, I was reminded of the depiction of Princesses Rhyme and Reason in the movie adaptation of Norton Juster's novel The Phantom Tollbooth, one of my favorite films as a child. Good work.
